Analytical workshop
Copenhagen, 21-25 November, 2016

The analytical workshop was held successfully in Copenhagen, Denmark from 21st November, 2016 to 25th November, 2016 with the participation of AUST team and AAU team. The AUST team would like to express deepest gratitude to the AAU team for organizing the workshop smoothly. All the members of AUST team wholeheartedly participated in the workshop and tried their best to give their input to make the workshop a successful one. Prof. A.M.M. Safiullah, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. KaziSharifulAlam, Treasurer, Prof. Md. Amanullah, Project Leader, Dr. Sarwar Morshed, Deputy Project Leader, Dr. Lal Mohan Baral, Researcher, Md. Mamun Hossain, Research Assistant, Aftab Hossain, Research Assistant and Shams Tabrin, Research Assistant were present from the AUST. Besides The PhD fellows Md. Abdul Latif, ImranulHoque and Abu Hamja have been staying in Denmark for their course study.
The workshop has been inaugurated by Prof. A.M.M. Safiullah, Vice Chancellor, AUST, Prof. Dr. KaziSharifulAlam Treasurer and Prof. Peter Hasle. Prof. Md. Amanullah, Project Leader, has delivered a speech on project overview describing pros and cons of the project. After that Dr. Sarwar Morshed, Deputy Project Leader give a presentation on the present status of the project. Besides he has also stated about the status of the cooperation with the other initiatives like Step-up and ETI.
Vice Chancellor gave a presentation on a case study of Building failure. After that the three PhD fellows presented their status of their review papers. Then Research Assistants presented the detailed descriptive statistics on baseline results. On that day at the evening, the AAU team entertained the AUST team with a welcome dinner in a restaurant.
On the next day the whole team made a visit to a garment industry in Copenhagen. The industry is running by the physically challenged workers. The workers having physical as well as mental illness work in this industry. The team visited the whole factory and talked with the managers and workers.
In the third day, an Assistant Professor of CIP, AAU gave a presentation on Problem based learning. After that the AUST team has been divided in to groups and some group works havebeen given to the groups. After the group work, the groups presented the possible implication of problem based learning methodology at AUST. Later Professor Charles Moller, Director of Centre for Industrial Production, Aalborg University gave a presentation on how to become a high ranked university. Later the team again did group works and presented their ideas on how AUST can become a high ranked university.
After that the whole team made a visit to the Royal Castle, Parliament House of the Kingdom of Denmark. The team enjoyed a guided tour around the castle. After that the workshop dinner was held in a restaurant.
On the next day, the group work on the structure of the intervention was held. An intense group work among the members of the group regarding various aspects of the intervention strategy has been discussed and presented. So many feedbacks came and the team came to a common decision regarding intervention strategy. The team then decided to implement all those in a systematic way in the intervention period. On that day, Vice Chancellor and Treasurer of AUST visited the Aalborg campus of AAU to meet with the rector of AAU.
On the last working day, a project management meeting was held. In the meeting, various tasks have been assigned to various members of the project. The workshop was closed after the meeting by thanking each other and giving souvenir to the members of AAU team.
